May 29, 2011 · The easy way to tell is that the 153 tooth flexplate is considerably smaller . So if both flexplates are the same size starter will work. Also if you look at the snout of the starter where the gear is the 168 tooth starter is only slightly angled wheren the 153 is angled alot.
